I don't cry. I eat...at Bombers Burgers

BOMBS AWAY!!!
Happy New Year, everyone! I decided to kick start 2013 with a blogpost on one of my favourite food groups: burgers. In my world burgers are one of the best things ever invented (bread, meat, cheese and all things wonderful in one stack). I was super stoked when I heard a burger joint was opening on Gaya Street, Kota Kinabalu serving American style burgers.
The newest kid on the food block in the little group of the ever eventful Gaya Street, Bombers Burgers' restaurant looks a classic American diner with some edge. Instead of an aproned voluptuous lady taking your order there will be a cool tattooed dude. Sorry, boys, no waitresses dressed in tight bootylicious dresses, red plumpy lips and red hair at your  service.

We risked going on a Saturday night which was my 2nd attempt at having dinner there as the last time I went there was a long line and not enough time to eat before a movie! This time we scored a seat at the counter which was quite fun as we got to see the chefs at work. By the way, kudos for the free popcorn while we waited, boys. Good thinking!
The burgers don't take long which is one of the things I love about this place. The burgers are served with butcher's paper on a plate. I got my Caribbean Burger combo with a milkshake and fries (I was going for as authentic American as I could).

Now I know I'm a lady but I think when it comes to burger that tastes good one is excused for leaving all lady-likeness at the DOOR. I pretty much inhaled my burger and I usually wouldn't eat burgers with a milkshake but let me tell you, it's a really really good combination. If you haven't tried you should try it at least once!

There is also a Man vs Food challenge which we saw someone attempt (a lot of food in 20 minutes) and there's a free t-shirt and meal up for grabs. So if you have a stomach or two maybe you should give it a try!

Casual but cool Bombers Burgers is a fun place to have a quick lunch or dinner. The price was surprisingly reasonable with the cheapest classic American burgers at RM8. Other things that caught my eye included hotdogs and chili cheese fries. Guess I'll be returning soon for that!!

Until next post,
Daphne

  1. That burger looks so nice! I wonder how the 'man vs food' challenge meal looks like :)
